Everybody’s favourite Christmas film

Utter the words ‘the best Christmas film is…’ anywhere over the next week or two and you best be prepared for a healthy debate.

Maybe It’s A Wonderful Life is the all-time great, perhaps Home Alone’s top of your list or it could be that Elf’s the family favourite.

The real answer is The Muppet Christmas Carol, by the way.

And you can probably recite the plot by heart at this point but that’s not the point – it’s all about enjoying the moment and getting into the spirit.

Christmas is a reminder that sometimes there’s absolutely nothing wrong with rinsing and repeating…

We’ve all got our unique traditions and there’s a marketing lesson in there too because just because we’ve done it before doesn’t mean we can’t do it again.

In fact, if it worked, we absolutely should do it again.

There’s a natural tendency for us to crave new things because that’s what’s exciting but there’s a time and place for doing something good again (and again).

It might need a little tweak here and a little update there but if you’ve had success with video before, for example, it might simply be a case of a script rewrite, an update to the content, and speaking with some of your customers.

After all, there’s nobody better to sell what you do than your customers – they’ve been through the entire process!

As things wind down, it’s worth taking that little bit of time to think about what next year looks like and what you want to achieve.

And if video is on the agenda, whether it’s definite or tentative, it’s worth us having a conversation…

Speak soon,

Ben (The Video Guy)
