I’m no Ryan Reynolds, but…

I may have mentioned it before, but I love going to the cinema.

And even more than that, I love going to the cinema to watch superhero movies.

Indulge me for a moment here…

Deadpool & Wolverine has leaped into the top 30 highest grossing films of all time with time still left in its cinema run and that’s pretty big news for a few reasons.

For one, it’s been a marketing campaign spearheaded by Ryan Reynolds which has taken in a whole lot of media.

There has been as much social media and online promotional video content about the film, if not more, than traditional interviews, media, trailers, and promotional activity.

That’s no accident – Reynolds is about as savvy as they come, and he’s used the power of brand marketing to elevate Wrexham AFC via sponsorships and more specifically the Disney+ documentary.

There’s been a lot of talk about people not wanting to go to the cinema, but this summer’s major blockbuster is proof that with the right video content, the right campaign, and the right product, that’s not the case.

The good news, though, is that you don’t need a Hollywood production company, Disney’s budget or Hugh Jackman’s star power to make video work for you. Far from it, in fact.

What you do need is an audience, a message, and a videographer who can bring it all to life…

Speak soon,

Ben (The Video Guy)
